The Luchon valley stretches at the foot of the highest peaks of the Pyrenees. It is a small town full of charm, lively and endowed with a picturesque architecture inherited from the 19th century and the prestigious personalities who stayed there.
It is also a place labeled Great Site Occitanie rich in secular traditions such as the Brandon of Saint John, classified by Unesco, the Flower Festival, whose origin dates back to Edmond Rostand, and hydrotherapy, initiated by Romans.
It is above all an exceptional natural site conducive to the practice of many outdoor activities and especially hiking with more than 400km of marked trails, fantastic landscapes to discover and a legendary long-distance hiking route: the GR10. It is also a high place for cycling with passes made legendary by the passage of the Tour de France.

The Great Site label is awarded by the french region Occitanie to only a few exceptional historic, cultural and / or natural sites spread across the south and south-west of France. Luchon is one of them.
Luchon is revealed from the summits that surround it or but simplyer during a walk in its parks and gardens, along its Etigny avenue, or along the course of the Pique. Its famous market is held twice a week around covered halls; the opportunity to taste the local culinary specialties.
Bagnères de Luchon offers cyclists the opportunity to discover the most beautiful routes in the Pyrenees, and to climb passes became famous due the Tour de France which has stopped there almost 60 times since 1910 : 1st category passes such as Superbagneres, at 1800m with its breathtaking views of the eternal snow, the Portillon at 1293m, gateway to Spain, Peyresourde at 1569m, regularly visited by the Tour de France, and at the bottom of the beautiful Oueil valley, the gorgeous port of Bales, except category which culminates at 1755m.
